THE
WAY In
the book of Acts, chapter 9, the earliest followers of JESUS
were called people of "The Way". Later they
became known as "Christians". At
THE WAY, we want to know God by studying His Word--the Bible--from
cover to cover. We desire to worship God with simplicity
and sincerity. And, we strive to help you discover God's
purpose for your life and prepare you to fulfill it.

THE WAY - What We Believe
The Bible is God’s Word. It is perfect. By it we learn
about God. It is the ultimate Guidebook for living.
We should not go beyond what is written.
God is love. God is Bigger and Nearer than we can
fully understand.
Jesus Christ is God showing Himself to us. Jesus
paid the penalty for our sin. Jesus is coming again.
Jesus is the way to Eternal Life.
The Holy Spirit lives in and through every Christian.
The Holy Spirit gives us Power and bears Life-Giving
Fruit in our Lives.
Grace is God being Nicer to us than we deserve.
Grace is the Only Way to have a Relationship with God.
Salvation is by Grace.
We Worship God. There is no other god.
Nothing else deserves our Worship.
Prayer is how we Talk to God.
Baptism is how we Declare that we are Followers of Christ.
As Christians, our Greatest Emphasis, Goal, and
Motivation is Love. Love God. Love People.
Nature. God made Everything. Things don’t “just happen.”
Heaven and Hell are real. Earthly death is not the end.
The Church is where we gather to Worship and Grow
as Christians. The Church functions as the Body of Christ
to bring Light to our World and Serve People like
Jesus Served People.
Life. Jesus came to give Life – a Rich and Robust Life
of Abundance and Blessing. Good things happen.
Bad things happen. God can bring Good out of bad things.

Declaration of Purpose
THE WAY Christian Church
THE WAY Christian Church is a fellowship of men, women, and children bound
together by a common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God
and only true Savior of all mankind from sin and eternal separation
from God. Together, we seek to bring glory to God by being the light
and salt of the earth in a time when evil is increasing and people are
hurting in their search for purpose and answers to life's fundamental
questions. We hold to the truth that Jesus is the way, the truth
and life, and no man comes to the Father, but by Him. It is entirely
by God's grace that man can be saved. Our devotion is only to
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the promised Messiah of the
world, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It is with this conviction that
we hold to certain foundational objectives as the bedrock upon which
this fellowship is built.
We
shall be a Worshipping Church. Our desire is to worship God
and His Son Jesus Christ corporately as we sing, pray, and read the
Scriptures together congregationally. We also endeavor to teach
and encourage every member of this church to worship God individually
and privately. Our worship shall not be confined to the outward
expression of singing and praying during the routine church meeting,
but rather in every aspect of our life, whether in our work or in our
leisure.
We
shall be a Bible-based Church. The truth we teach is anchored
in the Holy Bible. We honor the Scriptures as God's infallible,
unalterable, and eternal revelation to mankind. We strive to conform
to the teachings in the Bible and do not seek to alter the Bible to
fit into modern-America's ever-changing culture and defintion of morality,
truth, justice, and equity.
We
shall be a Loving Church. The Bible says that God is love
and that Christ's disciples shall be known by their love for one another.
Therefore, we shall aim to grow in the knowledge of God so that
we might be changed more and more into His image and reach out lovingly
to a lost and hurting world without prejudice or preference even as
Jesus Christ exemplified while He walked on this earth.
We
shall be a Growing Church. The Pastors and Elders of this
body shall be a team of servant-leaders who labor in the Scriptures
and in prayer with the express purpose of equipping, teaching, encouraging,
and preparing every member of this congregation for the work of the
ministry according to their individual gifts, talents, and calling.
In so doing, we will aspire to maturity through our individual
spiritual journeys as well as collectively as a body of Christians in
the knowledge of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.
In
the Name of Jesus, we, with God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit,
commit our hearts to the vision and purpose set forth in this Declaration
to the glory of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.
